Matrox Video’s ‘MXO2’ and ‘Majito’ Products Support Adobe, Avid Tools

H.264 files are encoded for the Web, iPad or iPhone up to five-times faster than software alone

Matrox Video, which produces HD and SD digital-video hardware and software products, said its Matrox MXO2 family of input/output devices and the Matrox Mojito MAX I/O card support the latest Adobe Creative Cloud and Avid Media Compose 7 professional video editing and content creation tools.

The Matrox I/O products provide broadcast-quality video and audio I/O and monitoring which enables traditional tape-based workflows, including deck control for frame-accurate batch capture and print-to-tape, according to Matrox Video.

The Matrox MXO2 and Matrox Mojito MAX are also the only I/O solutions on the market that lets users encode H.264 files for delivery to the Web, iPad and iPhone up to five-times faster than software alone without sacrificing quality, the company said.

In addition, MXO2 devices provide cross-platform Mac and Windows support, and are still the only solutions that connect anywhere via Thunderbolt, PCIe or ExpressCard/34, according to the company.

Those unified drivers support the latest releases of NLE software from Adobe, and Avid, according to Wayne Andrews, product manager at Matrox. “They are designed to give our customers the freedom to work easily and efficiently with whatever app is best for each task as they craft and deliver their stories,” he said.
