Data security and data mobility company CRU Inc. introduces the CRU ToughTech m3, geared toward photographers and videographers who need to store images and data on a safe, secure storage device.
According to the release, testers found its WriteProtect capability, which ensures data can’t be deleted by accident and keeps viruses and unwanted data off a drive, to be useful. Its aluminum construction was also cited as a plus, as was its portable power source from its USB 3.0 connection to a laptop or other device. Its rugged construction also includes a Kensington lock.
Its data interface speeds clock in at: SATA 3 Gbps, up to 300 MB/s; USB 3.0, up to 5 Gbps. It also features driver support for 2.5″ (9.5mm tall) SATA hard drives and SSDs and operates on Windows 7, 8, Server 2003/2008 and Vista or Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later, as well as Linux distributions that support the desired connection.
CRU ToughTech m3 will be available at the end of the month.
