Viacom Next Develops Mixed Reality Music Video for 'Withdrawal'

Filmmakers and musicians have always loved to experiment with music videos, and Viacom Next and musician Max Frost are taking perhaps the next step with the medium. Viacom’s VR division debuted a mixed reality music video of Frost's song "Withdrawal," featuring multiple holographic renditions of Frost in virtual environments, including apocalyptic cityscapes and underwater vistas.

"'Withdrawal' opens the door to a new medium of music and performance; it’s a first look at the future of music-based VR content," says Chaki Ng, senior vice president of Viacom Next, to VRScout. "Using Microsoft technology we can now create even more immersive worlds for audiences to explore and enjoy."
