Japanese art and technology collective teamLab as opened a new interactive exhibit at Pace London called Transcending Boundaries.
As It’s Nice That explains, “The largest room within the exhibition includes six works, such as Universe of Water Particles, a virtual waterfall which flows from the ceiling to the gallery floor. The flow of water influences other artworks including Flutter of Butterflies Beyond Borders, a piece where butterflies are created depending on where people stand. The flight patterns of the butterflies again influence the state of surrounding works, as well as the behaviour of viewers. Butterflies cluster in areas where flowers from a separate piece, Flowers and People, Transcending Boundaries – A Whole Year per Hour bloom, and if a viewer reaches out to touch a butterfly, it disappears.”
