Oculus’s virtual reality short Dear Angelica is a short animated piece that tells the story of a daughter reconnecting with her late mother. The film was the first piece created with their new Quill tool, which lets animators create 3D animations directly within VR.
“Using a tool that doesn’t actually exist for a project was a pretty crazy decision,” Story Studio lead and Dear Angelica writer/director Saschka Unseld tells Wired of using Quill. “By the end we were actually able to make the project.”
