The Simpsons aired their 600th episode and their 27th “Treehouse of Horror” episode last night and, along with it, brought something new to the table.
The show teamed up with Google to create a VR version of the episode’s couch gag, called “Planet of the Couches.” The gag is available to watch for free via the Google Spotlight Stories app on Android and iOS devices.
“The best part of it is trying to discover all the little things you can find in VR,” said Simpsons executive producer Al Jean. “One of the cool things about being on this long is you get to do stuff that you never dreamed was possible when we first started. It’s a fantastic effect and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
