Google’s new Daydream VR headset, set to launch next month, is a next step up from their ubiquitous and accessible Cardboard. The $79 headset is designed to work with their brand new VR-ready Android N operating system, incorporated in their new Pixel phone.
“We saw the value in turning the smartphone you already have into a VR device with Cardboard,” Clay Bavor, head of Google VR, told Fast Company. “And so, the natural next place to turn was: What if you designed [the phone] from the outset to be deliberately for VR?”
