After a year of experimenting with virtual reality and 360-degree video, BBC’s Zillah Watson, editor of the BBC research and development lab, talks to DigiDay about lessons learned.
“A strong sense of story disguises technical flaws,” says Watson. “That’s the case in news too; a badly framed shot that captures a moment can be award-winning news footage. Now we have a portfolio of some of the things that are possible to show creators in the BBC, saving them nine months of research.”
