Amazon and YouTube’s Rivalry Spells Golden Age for Content Creators

Amazon’s Video Direct launch last month is just the latest in a series of big companies (like Facebook) attempting to usurp YouTube’s throne as the king of video sites. As Re/code’s TJ Leonard writes, this rapidly shifting game of platforms is a boon for content creators.

Writes Leonard, “When it comes to distributing your digital video content, two things (and maybe only two things) are clear: First, if you are a content creator, you have more distribution and monetization options that offer scale than at any point in human history. Second, the industry is evolving at a rate that promises everything will have changed by this time next year.”
