Facebook has released the first 360-degree video filmed with its own Surround 360 camera array. Directed by Jaron Albertin,”Here and Now” explores the stories that unfold within three-and-a-half minutes in New York’s Grand Central Station.
MPC was responsible for stitching together the final result and providing the short’s visual effects.
“In one fell swoop, Brian Cabral and the Facebook team have drastically improved nearly every aspect of 360 video — from image acquisition to how we view it. It was an honor to take part in this big step forward for the medium,” said Mike Wigart, Executive Producer of MPC Creative LA.
The video is available on Facebook and for the Oculus Rift.
