Social Live-Streaming Encroaching on Live Sports

With a Twitter/NFL deal, and a Yahoo/NBA deal happening in the same week, The Drum looks at how social live-streaming could affect the last great bastion of live TV: sports.

“The question for us is creating a repeatable habit around the sports content we’re showing,” Yahoo SVP of video Adam Cahan told The Drum “We view what we’re doing as complementary offer right now rather than a full replacement… but interestingly when we’ve done things that are more exclusive and act as a replacement [to traditional broadcasters] we do see that scale.”
