10% of Election Ad Spends Expected to Be Digital

For the first time ever, digital ad spends for the presidential campaigns is expected to reach $1 billion, roughly 10 percent of the overall spend. 

Explains Re/code, “Up until now, political advertisers have treated the Internet as a novelty. In 2008, digital accounted for a paltry $22 million of the $6.2 billion campaigns spent on advertising.”
