Justin Lin’s “Help” is a short Hollywood blockbuster from the director of four Fast and Furious films and the upcoming Star Trek Beyond. What makes it unique is that it is a 360-degree experience, made exclusively for Google Spotlight Stories and available now via the Spotlight Stories or YouTube apps.
“I just drew the idea on a whiteboard, and that was it,” Lin tells Wired. “We didn’t know how to do it then. But Google needed to push the envelope and they weren’t phased. So I kept pushing. And pushing. That’s what I learned from the indie film world: It’s to say, This is the idea—how do we get there? Don’t censor it. Just push to get there.”
