Amazon’s new original series The New Yorker Presents is a true video magazine, bringing The New Yorker‘s signature mix of culture, humor, news, and fiction to life in video format. The show represents The New Yorker‘s foray into a new, younger medium, and Amazon’s own attempt at non-fiction programming. Unlike most streaming shows, all the episodes of the first season won’t be released at once, but will be released on a weekly basis, much like the magazine itself.
“We spent the summer making more than 50 short films of varying length,” showrunner Kahane Cooperman explains to Wired. “But we need to feel, as different as they each were, that they were all from the same universe.”
