Video and audio streaming makes up 70% of North American Internet traffic during peak evening hours, according to a new report from Sandvine. Only five years ago, that number was at 35%.

Writes IGN, "What's more, Netflix, Amazon and YouTube were the top three sources of video traffic, with Netflix taking 37.1% of peak traffic in the evening, YouTube at 17.9% and Amazon at 3.1%. All three also saw increases in traffic compared to earlier this year, and the ever-increasing popularity of video streaming resulted in sites like BitTorrent seeing a decrease in activity, from 7% in 2014, to 5%."
