YouTube's Rewind Video Proves the Site Is Dominated By Pro Videos

YouTube's Rewind video for 2015 makes one thing clear as it rehashes the most popular content of the year on the site and across pop culture: YouTube itself has become a bigger destination for brands and celebrities than the user-generated content it was once known for.

As Kaan Yigit, president of Solutions Research Group, explained to Stream Daily, "As specialty TV channels (and) cable channels have gone into reality and competition driven formats, this opened up opportunity for a whole slew of content that kind of was on these channels. Everything from woodworking to cooking — think Food Tube from Jamie Oliver —  but done professionally now, not just user submitted videos.”

Blackmagic Design announced today that TBS SPARKLE, Inc. has installed a Cintel Scanner and DaVinci Resolve Studio to digitize a huge amount of 16mm footage from 1955 to the 1980s. This will include the digitization of more than 3,000 films, documentaries and news shows, as well as other footage shot by TBS SPARKLE, Inc.
