New virtual reality studio Baobab Studios will be releasing a standalone short animated film next year called "Invasion!"
Baobab is founded by former Zynga VP Maureen Fan and Magacascar co-director Eric Darnell and has received $6 million dollars in funding from Comcast Ventures.
Says Fan about the reasoning behind the 10-minute short, "From a technology viewpoint, tech changes so quickly that by the time we could finish a full length film, the tech would be obsolete. From an audience perspective, you may not want to put that headset on your head for long periods of time."
