GlobalWebIndex has taken a look at second screen behaviors among Facebookers and found some interesting statistics.
For example, 48% of Facebookers chatted with friends the last time they second-screened while only 12% shared their opinion of a TV show. This is compared to 20% of Twitter users who did the latter.
As GWI tells Social Times, “With [Facebook’s] new features like hashtag voting and polling for live events, this is a clear move to challenge Twitter as the go-to point for those who second screen while watching TV. A notable 86 percent of Facebookers second-screen at the moment, but Twitter scores the best figures for behaviors relating specifically to TV shows.”
