Will Facebook Lead in the Live Video Streaming Space?

Business Insider's Mark Hoelzel reports on Facebook's Live Streaming feature and its potential to break out in ways competitors can't hope to. "The new feature," Hoelzel writes, "is similar to live streaming apps Meerkat and Twitter-owned Periscope, and lets Facebook users stream live videos to their followers. At the moment the feature is only available for public figures, such as celebrities and politicians, through Facebook's celebrity-only Mentions app. However, we think the feature will eventually role out to all Facebook users."

The piece goes on to suggest ways that the service could be monitized and to point out why Facebook might be best positioned to lead the way.
