The Sphericam 2 is a proposed new 360-degree camera that claims to be able to easily facilitate the creation of virtual reality videos straight out of the box. The tennis-ball sized device has a unique crystalline shape and features six cameras working together to produce 4K video at up to 60 fps. The camera also has wifi and streaming capabilities baked in and is controlled via a mobile app.
A Kickstarter campaign was started for the camera today that has (at the time of this writing) already raised $32,000 out of its requested $150,000. Donors who give a minimum of $1,299 can own the Sphericam 2 for themselves.
