Interactive artist Daniel Rozin’s new exhibit at New York’s bitforms gallery features a mirror made entirely out of mechanical penguins and one made of pom-poms.
“I find the mirror, as interface and paradigm very successful and useful for the creation of participatory interactive art,” says Rozin. “Mirrors are of course also very loaded and interesting objects that allow us to experience our being from the vantage point of others which is a very different from the way we experience ourselves internally and a unique sensation. We no longer think of the mirror as a technological inventions but it is relatively new, and has had a profound influence on human life and self-awareness.”
