Huffington Post Invests in Channel of Citizen Video Journalists

The Huffington Post has partnered with BroadbandTV to create Outspeak, its own multi-channel network of citizen video journalists.

Editor-in-chief Ariana Huffington tells Advertising Age, “We have a hundred thousand bloggers around the world, and we are getting to ready open the platform to more on the blogging side, and we wanted to do the same on the video side.”

“Philosophically, we’re all about this being a boutique MCN and getting the best of the best,” adds Nathan Brown, SVP and GM of video.” A lot of MCNs out there will take any creator with a pulse, and it’s really not about that.”
