Morgan Spurlock Says ‘Connected’ Fulfills Promise of Reality TV

In the below video Connected executive producer Morgan Spurlock and AOL president of video Dermot McCormack talk to Techcrunch about their new web series, which is AOL’s first foray into long-form programming.

Says Spurlock that he thought the premise of the show was “what the promise of reality television was. A show that actually deals with reality…The filter was pulled away. They can say whatever they want. The goal for us was to create a show from a non-fiction standpoint that would rival something that you would see on subscription or late-night basic cable. I think that purity, that honesty is what makes the show very different.”
