North Face has collaborated with virtual reality production company Jaunt to bring the rugged beauty of Yosemite National Park and the Moab Desert to its in-store customers.
The virtual reality experience, which will debut at SXSW next week before being rolled out across North Face stores in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, will use Google Cardboard headsets to place users within the landscapes.
Eric Oliver, North Face’s director of digital marketing told Digiday, “Every brand wants to forge an emotional connection with its customers. Our brand mission is to inspire a life of exploration, so we felt like this was a great way to enhance our storytelling, use technology and transport people to the outdoors.”
