Vice News, Spike Jonze and Chris Milk have teamed up for yet another new application for virtual reality: putting users in the middle of world events. Their virtual reality news broadcast, available on the VRSE app, was filmed at December’s Millions March protest in New York, following the death of Eric Garner.
As Jonze says, “Chris [Milk] and I have been talking a lot about the possibilities and future of VR filmmaking over the last year. One of the areas we are excited about is documentary and news, to create the experience of being there in the middle of events that are happening.”
