New Exhibit Finds New Yorkers a Live Video Pen Pal in Tehran

A new exhibit called "Portals" from Shared Studios allows strangers to spend 15 minutes inside a shipping container in New York City that will allow them to chat live with someone in Tehran, Iran. The idea was born from the concept of pen pals and reconfigured for 21st century technology.

"I thought, ‘There’s nothing really quite like that now,’" creator Amar Bakshi says.“Before high tech existed, we had that sense of sacredness and mystery.”
