TiVo’s second annual “Multitasking and Social TV Survey” found that although 51% of respondents say they multitask while watching TV (compared to 36% last year), 47% say that their main focus is still on the television program itself. Only 5% say their multitasking is always TV-related.
Said TiVo Chief Research Officer Jonathan Steuer, “Even given the proliferation of multitasking, viewers remain primarily focused on the television shows they are watching. To paraphrase the Bard, the program’s the thing!”
