Mix Off is an app created for the U.K. version of The X Factor which continues to push the way user-generated content is treated and output. The app allows users to insert themselves into professional-looking music videos. The latest version even allows users to pull in content from friends or other app users.
Micky Tudor, creative director and partner of agency CHI & Partners, tells Fast Company‘s Co.Create, “The challenge we gave ourselves was to find a way of ensuring the UGC had the quality you’d expect in a top end music video. So we set out to give them something great to watch–something they’d feel could have been made for MTV.”
