The Los Angeles Times goes behind-the-scenes of @SummerBreak, a social experiment reality show shown in short episodes, in almost real-time, on YouTube over the summer.
Explains creator Billy Parks, "When you're telling a story, you have to think about how to do it across platforms. We use data to find out in real time what story lines are working the best … and then we can do that by listening to what's working on each platform. Television isn't always set up to do that."
