Magisto Lets Outside Lands Festival-Goers Create (and Share) Online Movies

Outside Lands is a three-day music, food and arts festival that takes place in in August in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, Calif. (Performers this year included Kanye West, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and The Killers.) The festival teamed this year with Magisto, a cloud-based video editing application, to enable festival artists and concert-goers to create and share videos that celebrate music, art and food.

Magisto, which claims 40 million users worldwide, is a mobile video editing application that turns user’s photos and videos into movies in a matter of minutes. Driven by artificial intelligence and a simple user interface, Magisto allows users to create and share personal videos. It automatically selects the most compelling moments from ordinary videos and photos and weaves them together to convey a story with customized styles and music. Movies can be shared across social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+.

The company is funded by Horizons Ventures, Magma Venture Partners, Qualcomm Inc. (through its venture capital arm, Qualcomm Ventures), and SanDisk Ventures. The company is based in Tel Aviv, Israel, with offices in New York and California.



University of Louisville Completes State-of-the-Art Control Room Build With Systems Integration by BeckTV

BeckTV, one of the United States' premier design-build systems integrators, served as the systems integrator for the control room build at the new University of Louisville (UofL) Athletics Broadcast Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The state-of-the-art, 7,850-square-foot television production facility, which opened its doors in September 2018, is designed to house all of the equipment and personnel necessary to originate live programming for the comprehensive linear and digital ACC Network, which will be launched by the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and ESPN in 2019.
