In 1964, Isaac Asimov wrote an article for TheNew York Times after visting the GE pavilion at the World's Fair, detailing what he thought technology would look like in 2014.
In celebration of that article's anniversary, GE has launched a campaign called The Next List, which will look back at the changes in tech since 1964, and also forward to predictions of what's coming in 2064. The campaign includes a hub on Medium, as well as exclusive and interactive social media components: for example, this interactive Tumblr graphic that was posted on Friday.
"The anniversary represents an opportunity to once again look forward and envision a world elevated by innovation," said Sydney Lestrud, GE’s manager of global digital marketing, tells Adweek. "The Next List represents the company’s major research and development focus areas across healthcare, energy, software and manufacturing and the breakthroughs coming out of our global research centers around the world."
