Media Companies Look Beyond Facebook and Twitter for Social Engagement

Adweek reports on how media brands are using social networks other than Facebook and Twitter for major announcements. Recently, MTV used Snapchat to announce their VMA nominees, ESPN used Pinterest to post red carpet photos from the ESPYs, and Hyundai focused on Tumblr for the World Cup.

Explains Tom Fishman, MTV’s VP of content marketing and fan engagement, “When going to a new place like Snapchat where we have a smaller community that we want to grow, we reward people for being the first followers there. “And we know Snapchat has this great community where they take screen grabs and share.”
