VIZRT Conducts Public Sessions At IBC 2008 To Discuss The Creation Of Efficient Multimedia Infrastructures

Publish date:

Bergen, Norway, September 4, 2008 Vizrt Ltd. (Frankfurt Prime Standard, Oslo Main List: VIZ) Vizrt, a leading provider of realtime graphics and integrated video workflow solutions for the media industry, is employing a new strategy at IBC 2008 to show prospective customers how its products can create cutting-edge multimedia infrastructures that capitalize on new opportunities in broadcasting. At its IBC booth— Stand Number (2.B31 / 2.C39), from September 12-16 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands— Vizrt will conduct eight 20-minute public sessions, each of which focus on a key topic or issue. The topics encompass HD graphics, multiple platform production, interactive graphics, media asset management (MAM), and Web distribution. Rather than just skimming the surface of their broad range of products, Vizrt executives plan to delve into each topic area to explain how their solutions can be used to boost productivity, workflow, and revenue in today’s challenging real world broadcast scenarios. “The winners in this market are those broadcasters who shift their resources into creative cross-platform production, said Vizrt CEO Bjarne Berg. “Younger viewers are much more visually oriented and see little difference between digital platforms. To them news is news regardless of where they consume it. That means that a cross-media approach is the only profitable way forward for all of us in this business. Berg will conduct a session on Saturday, September 13th in the Vizrt booth, entitled “Priming Tomorrow’s Success with Smarter Investments Today that will cater to both prospective customers and members of the press. All are welcome to attend. Vizrt’s solutions are designed to streamline production, maximize video and graphics assets, and eliminate wasteful duplication of effort when repurposing media content for traditional television, Web-based broadcasting, Internet video, mobile TV, IPTV, broadband and other new media outlets. Being competitive and successful in the Internet media age is the focus of “Escenic Workflow – Cost Effectively Monetize Your Viewers Online, a session being presented by Tom Skolbekken, VP Marketing & Sales for Escenic, a newly acquired Vizrt company. “The fully integrated Vizrt-Escenic product suite enables efficient management of externally and internally generated content, said Skolbekken. “Video and graphics assets made for TV programs are too valuable not to be reused online. Substantial cost savings together with improved, consistent branding can be achieved with a shorter time to market. At a session called “The Viz Video Hub – Media Asset Management for a Converging Media World, Jimmy Engelbrecht, Chief Engineer for Vizrt, shares his expertise about streamlining the increasingly complex process of ingest, storage, and organization of digital video content. “Each new platform demands a different set of tools and formats, said Engelbrecht. “Fitting all this into the production workflow usually requires either a high level of manual labour or extensive customization of existing systems. And yet without this streamlining, workflows become hopelessly inefficient and expensive to sustain. Following is a complete list of the public sessions Vizrt is offering at this year’s IBC: FULL LIST OF PUBLIC SESSIONS HELD AT VIZRT’s IBC BOOTH: Escenic Workflow – Cost-effectively Monetize Your Viewers Online By Tom Skolbekken, VP Marketing & Sales for Escenic Friday, September 12th at 2pm Saturday, September 13th at 10am Sunday, September 14th at 4pm Tuesday, September 16th at 10am Merging Graphics and Video Assets into a Single Desktop – Viz Link By Steinar Sereide, Operational CTO Vizrt Friday, September 12th at 4pm Monday, September 15th at 10am The Viz Video Hub – The MAM for a Converging Media World By Jimmy Engelbrecht, Chief Engineer Ardendo Saturday, September 13th at 12pm Tuesday, September 16th at 12pm Success Tomorrow is all about Smarter Investments By Bjarne Berg, CEO Vizrt Saturday, September 13th at 2pm Cross Platform Participation TV By Per-Henning Almvang, VP Sales & Marketing, Saturday, September 13th at 4pm Graphics Strategy for HD Migration in Live Applications – Reality Check By Andrew Heimbold, Founder and President of Reality Check Studios, Inc.
