Trailer Park Scores Major Creative Talent, Names Darren Jaffe & Clarissa Donlevy to New Motion Graphics Department

Trailer Park, the industry’s leading entertainment marketing agency, has hired two of the world’s top Motion Graphics executives away from internationally acclaimed motion companies. Darren Jaffe, who left Brand New School, joins Trailer Park as its Director of Motion Graphics, while Clarissa Donlevy, who left Prologue Films, joins TP as its Creative Director, Motion Graphics. The announcement was made today by Rick Eiserman, CEO, Trailer Park, Inc.

Jaffe (photo at right) and Donlevy will now head up Trailer Park’s Motion Graphics Group, which serves all of the agency’s divisions, and includes motion design services for brands, theatrical, TV, gaming, and other creative needs. The two report to Matt Bonin, Trailer Park’s Managing Director of Integrated Production.

Mr. Bonin said, “Darren Jaffe brings a wealth of experience to Trailer Park. The work he did on behalf of Emirates Airlines, during his Brand New School era, was truly beautiful, while the massive, 40 TV screen, two year long installation he produced for Microsoft, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, and McCann-Erickson, located at JFK Airport, was widely heralded by both the public and the media. His motion graphics work on behalf of such major clients as Target, Palm, and Cellular South earned critical acclaim. Darren even had the privilege of working with internationally acclaimed artist Barbara Kruger on the creation of a cultural installation for Louis Vuitton in Paris.

He adds, “At every step of her career, Clarissa Donlevy has consistently won high profile accounts and established healthy and creative business relationships. As a Designer/Director, she was a key creative team member behind NBC’s Sunday Night Football 2010 Sports Emmy Award nomination which was just announced as ‘Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement-Episodic.’ Her very recent work conceiving, designing, and directing a teaser for HBO’s dramatic WWII series ‘The Pacific’ not only was groundbreaking creatively, but was even praised by the producers of that mini-series, Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, and Steven Spielberg. Clarissa is the winner of a ‘World Gold’ Award from Promax/BDA for her work on behalf of Australia’s W Channel, and she’s also been nominated for other Promax/BDA, Rushes Soho Shorts Festival, and London-based LEAF Awards, in addition.

Prior to joining Trailer Park Studios, Darren Jaffe had been Head of Production 2007 with Los Angeles-based Brand New School, one of the preeminent motion graphics and design studios in the industry. A former teacher, Jaffe took a strange path to the entertainment industry. After six years as an educator, he shifted gears and began working within the world of Commercial Broadcast Design/Production. His goal was to help enlighten and educate artists, clients, and consumers.

In 2002, Jaffe became a Producer with Brand New School, and, a few years later, was promoted into the Head of Production role. Between managing multiple projects, clients and artists, Jaffe spent his spare time editing, and animating. In conjunction with his colleagues, Jaffe helped to create innovative and ground breaking projects from pitch through to delivery, across numerous formats, including print, live action, CG Animation, network branding, experiential, film titles, music videos, and others.

Jaffe says, “Finding a new technique, a new look, and a new method are the things that help create inspiring work. Those moments are what I seek, and I’ve been fortune enough to have accomplished this during work on my previous projects. I consider my move from being an educator to my post at Brand New School as a career success, and I am excited now about continued growth at Trailer Park.

Before she joined Trailer Park Studios, Clarissa Donlevy worked with Prologue Films, Los Angeles, since 2008. There, she led a team of Designers and Art Directors on such projects as opening title sequences, show packages, TV promos, trailers, media branding, commercials and ID’s for such clients as Warner Brothers, Universal Studios, Disney, TBWA\Chiat\Day, ESPN, NBC, E! Entertainment, and HBO.

After completing her Honors Degree in Graphic Design in Sydney, Australia, Donlevy left that country to surround herself with art design culture in London. There, she began her career at renowned motion graphics agency Lambie Nairn & Co, before moving onto in-house work for the BBC and ITV Networks as Senior Designer / Director.

While based in London, Donlevy conceived and directed all aspects of motion graphics, from live action to visual effects, overseeing projects to completion with direction on high end post production at MPC. Working in London also provided Donlevy with the opportunity to develop solid conceptual and narrative sensibilities, while concurrently honing her design skills and expanding her motion graphics vocabulary.

Returning to Australia in 2001, Donlevy next turned her focus to creating opening titles for film and television, earning awards and accolades from Promax/BDA, and sharing her passion by participating in public speaking events for the Australian Film Institute. Donlevy relocated to Los Angeles recently.
