Pixit Media, leading provider of software-defined storage to the Media and Entertainment industry, today announced the expansion of its management team with appointment of Tim Cuthbertson as Managing Director of US Operations.
Cuthbertson brings 20 years’ experience working in Media and Entertainment to the company, including post-production on many Hollywood blockbusters, and a wealth of knowledge in workflow, pipeline and selling solutions into the North American market. Previously, he was head of Post-Production Business Development for Blackmagic Design (Resolve) and VP Sales of Fairlight (Audio Post). He joins Pixit Media from a business development role at ColorScene.
In this role, Cuthbertson will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and providing account management for the expanding Pixit Media’s customer base in North America, which includes a growing number of high-profile studios, broadcasters and award-winning creative organisations. He will also work closely with strategic technology providers and resellers to strengthen the Pixit Media partner ecosystem, making it easier for customers to benefit from the efficiencies of a PixStor environment.
Commenting on his appointment, Cuthbertson said: “More than ever before, media organisations need flexible, cost effective storage solutions that can handle their content creation workflows. As current data management approaches are being pushed to the limit and the demands of global collaboration are disrupting existing on-premise models, change is inevitable. With PixStor, Pixit Media has a fully scalable solution, built to adapt and that provides intelligent tools to help clients take on increasingly ambitious projects. It seamlessly integrates on-premise, remote, and in the cloud resources, while delivering the sustained high-performance required for data-hungry workflows. It’s a really exciting time to join the Pixit Media team and I am looking forward to building our momentum in the USA.”
An impressive roll-call of studios, broadcasters and post-production facilities across the world rely on Pixit Media’s PixStor software-defined storage platform to provide sustained guaranteed performance at capacity and scalability for their demanding media workflows including Warner Bros. De Lane Lea, Fox Sports, Red Bee Media, Picture Shop, Framestore, Pixelogic, 9 Group, Bardel Entertainment and Deluxe Group.
“We’re delighted to welcome Tim on board. He’s a great addition to our management team,” says Ryan Cardy, Pixit Media’s Chief Operating Officer. “His deep sales and technical expertise will be a real asset to our North American operation and help maintain our customer focus as we continue to grow.”
