Celebrate Excellence in Post Production November 10th

Hollywood Post Alliance(r)

- the professional organization for the post production community - has opened ticket sales for the

2011 HPA Awards

show, set for November 10th. The Awards recognize the achievements of those individuals who work behind the scenes, with ingenuity and creativity, to create motion pictures, commercials and television programming. Awards will be given in 12 craft categories including color grading, editing, sound, and compositing for feature film, television and commercial. The HPA Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation in Post Production will be awarded to both Testronic Labs and Steven J. Scott of EFILM. Sony Professional Solutions, Dolby Laboratories, Lightcraft Technology and IBM will each receive the coveted Engineering Excellence Award, sponsored by NAB Show; and the Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Cyril Drabinsky, President and CEO of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group. Qoncept Inc. Uses DeckLink SDI Micro for Pitching Tracking System Baseboy

Blackmagic Design announced today that Blackmagic’s DeckLink SDI Micro was used for capture and playback with the pitching tracking system “Baseboy,” a newly announced system by Qoncept Inc. capable of visualizing a ball’s path and interlocking with a camera feed. Baseboy was first used, in conjunction with a Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K, in the recent Japan/US international baseball match, Samurai Japan Series 2019, broadcast by TV Asahi as Japan’s first real time baseboy analysis system.
