More than 30 Super Bowl XLII TV commercials for Bridgestone, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, FedEx and other advertisers were created using Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) technology. Autodeskâ€™s visual effects, editing/ finishing and 3D modeling, animation and rendering software were used to deliver computer-generated imagery, including digital animals and environments. â€œWith a viewership of over 97 million people, this yearâ€™s Super Bowl commercials have exceeded expectations and delivered the inspired entertainment we look forward to year after year,â€? said Karim Salabi, Autodesk Media & Entertainment vice president of marketing. â€œOnce again, leading post-production facilities relied on Autodesk solutions to deliver high-impact TV commercials, all within the strict deadlines of commercial post-production.â€? Numerous post-production facilities worked on the creation of Super Bowl commercials with Autodesk solutions: â€¢ Method Studios completed two Bridgestone Tires spots. The Autodesk Flame visual effects system was used on Unexpected Obstacles, while The Scream was completed with Autodesk Maya 3D animation, modeling and rendering software to mold, rig and animate seven animals. â€¢ The Mill used the Autodesk Smoke editing and finishing system, Autodesk Mudbox brush-based modeling software, Flame and Maya to create a variety of commercials, including Coca-Colaâ€™s Itâ€™s Mine (Mudbox, the nCloth functionality in Maya, Flame and Smoke), CareerBuilder.comâ€™s Queen of Hearts (Flame and Maya), Diet Pepsi Maxâ€™s Nod (Flame), and Amp Energyâ€™s Amp (Flame). â€¢ Filmworkers Club used the Autodesk Inferno visual effects system, Smoke and Flame to create several spots, including Budweiserâ€™s Clydesdale Team, Bud Lightâ€™s Breath Fire, Wheel, Fly and Endorsement, GoDaddy.comâ€™s Spot On. Flame was also used for finishing work on Cars.comâ€™s Witch Doctor, Stone Circle, and Brownie. â€¢ Framestore NY used Maya for modeling, look development, animation and rendering of computer generated birds in FedEx's Carrier Pigeons, as well as Flame for compositing. Flame was also used for Tide to Goâ€™s Interview, E*Tradeâ€™s Baby Trading 1 and 2 and Chaseâ€™s Secret Agent. â€¢ Rhino VFX created a variety of spots using Flame and Maya, including Cadillacâ€™s Live in It (Flame and Maya) which aired before kick off and after the Super Bowl, Dellâ€™s Out with The Old (Flame and Maya), Prudentialâ€™s Rockpoints (Flame and Maya) and Ice Breakerâ€™s Autograph (Flame). â€¢ Ring of Fire used Flame and Maya for T-Mobileâ€™s Dwayne Wins and Flame for Cars.comâ€™s Witch Doctor and Amp Energyâ€™s Camel. â€¢ a52 used Flame to shape CareerBuilder.comâ€™s Self-Help Yourself and Self-Help You which aired during ESPNâ€™s SportsCenter immediately following the conclusion of the Super Bowl. â€¢ RIOT used Flame and Inferno to create Bud Lightâ€™s Wine and Cheese Party and Dellâ€™s Slap. â€¢ Radium shaped Toyotaâ€™s Trike Race using Inferno. â€¢ Semerad Post Production used Inferno and Flame to complete Ice Breakerâ€™s Autograph, AT&Tâ€™s Trip and NY Lottoâ€™s Everyone.
