FALLS CHURCH, VA - In a continuation of their recent expansion, SmithGifford, an award-winning, full-service advertising agency, has named Susan Kearney to the newly created post of Executive Vice President, it was announced today by company President Matt Smith. In her new post, Kearney will be responsible for expanding the company’s business, broadening the products and services they offer their current and future clients, and positioning them in the online/new media world in addition to the traditional advertising world the company currently inhabits. She will work directly with Matt Smith and his partner Bruce Gifford. Susan Kearney is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in sales, marketing, and distribution. “Susan’s expertise in new media will expand our offerings to things like social marketing, word of mouth marketing, search, online and video advertising, and viral advertising, among others. She will give the firm an online new media presence,� explained Smith. On her reasons for joining the SmithGifford team Susan Kearney added, �When I was a Chief Marketing Officer at Voxant, I hired SmithGifford. (Reston, VA) responsible for building the network of web publishers and bloggers who syndicate Voxant’s news and information content on their sites. To meet this challenge, she integrated traditional marketing methods with an array of new media techniques including search, social marketing, blogging, word of mouth campaigns, and viral advertising. She was also responsible for branding and thought leadership, press and analyst relations, and product marketing. As President/CEO of her own firm, SalesTraction (Falls Church, VA), Kearney worked with technology firms to solve their toughest problem: building predictable, rapidly growing revenue streams. Her high profile clients included SAP, SuccessFactors, Netuitive, eCount, SPSS, Synygy, and Webputty. Earlier in her career, Susan Kearney was a member of the management team that re-built IRI Software and sold it to Oracle Corporation (Vienna, VA). After two years at Oracle, she was recruited to Paragren Technologies (Reston, VA) where her role as Chief Revenue Officer gave her worldwide responsibility for marketing, sales, and strategic alliances. She was a member of the executive team that built Paragren's business and subsequently sold it to Siebel Corporation (now a division of Oracle). Kearney is a member of The CMO Club, MENG, and the Technology Marketing Alliance and has served in leadership positions with the NVTC and Women in Technology. She has an MBA in Strategic Management, summa cum laude, from Pace University (New York, NY), and a B.A. in Russian Studies and Economics from the University of Virginia (Charlottesville, VA).
