Company Provides Music Licensing On Comedy Currently Available On IFC Festival Direct New York, NY – (August 4, 2008) – Shout It Out Loud Music (SIOLM) was recently commissioned by filmmakers Nathan and David Zellner of the Zellner Bros. for their music licensing needs on feature film “Goliath. The film is currently available on-demand on IFC Festival Direct and will be released on DVD in the Fall/Winter of 2008. The acclaimed comedy, which has screened at Sundance, SXSW, Independent Film Festival of Boston, AFI Dallas, Cinevegas, Florida and Maryland film festivals, focuses on a man who loses everything - his wife, his job, his mind, but most importantly, his cat Goliath. “When we were editing our feature film, ‘Goliath,’ David and I had already singled out couple of appropriate music tracks from bands we admire cut into the picture, says Nathan Zellner. “We were a little naive on how to go about getting the legal rights for these tracks, especially since we wanted to properly get the film distributed. Fortunately, Francis Garcia from Shout It Out Loud Music was able to come in late in the process, track down the proper license owners, and helped us navigate the finer details of music licensing. Francis dealt with both large labels and indie songwriters, negotiating no-hassle deals that worked best for our smaller production, and most importantly kept us within budget. His expertise and assistance was invaluable towards the finishing and delivering of our film. “Goliath was an exciting opportunity for the Zellner Bros. and Garcia to join creative forces again. The trio had previously collaborated on the music for the Zellner’s 1998 feature, “Plastic Utopia. “The Zellner Bros. are amazing filmmakers to work with, concludes Garcia. “They’ve got their own unique vision, and know how to straddle that line between absurdity and tragedy. ‘Goliath’ was a good fit for us. David and Nathan have a similar creative sensibility and under-the-radar approach to music, tending to gravitate towards local indie bands. They’re fearless in their filmmaking, and this story had a lot of heart, which really appealed to me. Feature Film Title: “Goliath Production Company: Zellner Bros Productions / Austin, TX Directors: David and Nathan Zellner Editor: Nathan Zellner DP: Jim Eastburn Executive Producer/Producer: Nathan Zellner Where shot: Austin, TX Music Licensing: Shout It Out Loud Music Creative Director: Francis Garcia Producer: Leigh Hurwitz Sound Designer: Tom Sturgis Audio Engineer: Philip Loeb @ Sound Lounge
