Saatchi & Saatchi LA Streamlines Workflow with Production Asset Management System, TACTIC

Leading ad agency leverages TACTIC’s flexibility to create digital “garage” of files and to streamline internal and external workflows

Toronto, Canada – Aug 10, 2011

Southpaw Technology, a leading developer of production asset management (PAM) technology for digital content creation (DCC) companies, announced today that its production asset management system TACTIC has been deployed by the Los Angeles arm of one of the world’s leading advertising agencies, Saatchi & Saatchi, in order to manage and track thousands of digital files, as well as to simplify production workflow.

TACTIC removes the burden of managing huge volumes of data during the creation process by linking assets and production data together in one intuitive, Web-based solution. This unique combination of asset and production management ensures that the entire team knows where important files are, which file is the most current version, who is working on which file, and the status of every file. What’s more, TACTIC’s open architecture allows companies to integrate it into any toolset and deploy it across any content creation workflow, including visual effects, animation, post production, 3D conversion, industrial design, engineering and advertising.

Currently Saatchi & Saatchi LA’s 3D department is using TACTIC to store and organize an extensive database of virtual parts, props and locations for one of its automotive clients. TACTIC enhances the agency’s unique offering by enabling its 3D team to find files faster and quickly assemble thousands of product configurations, as well as digitize and automate 3D workflows across massive internal and multi-vendor productions.

“We originally deployed TACTIC because it was the only system—outside of building one from scratch—that fit our vision for truly comprehensive 3D asset and workflow management,” said Michael Wilken, director of 3D, Saatchi & Saatchi LA. “As the virtual representations of reality continue to gain applicability for content creation, our ability to leverage 3D assets is transforming. Tactic is an important part of our rapidly growing 3D capabilities, automating and simplifying complex tasks so our artists can focus on imagining and creating groundbreaking content, not on managing it.”

“Working with Saatchi & Saatchi has been a tremendous experience,” said Gary Mundell, CEO of Southpaw Technology. “Implementing TACTIC to support their talented team and their completely unique workflow has really proven that TACTIC can ease the content creation process across any pipeline.”
