Publish date:

Detroit- RingSide Creative has brought on senior editor Chris Randolph. Randolph brings more than 20 years of post production experience to RingSide, all in the Detroit market, and is a multi-talented artist, skilled in off-line and online editing, visual effects, compositing and graphics. He arrives from a similar position with Pluto Post. RingSide Creative Director of Sales and Marketing Kim Fairman said that Randolph's broad skill set and close relationships with ad agencies in the Detroit market and elsewhere make him a great addition to the company's editorial team. "We've diversified a lot over the past year, not only in the services that we offer, but also in our talent," she said. "Chris is a fantastic editor, with a great reputation and a great client following." For his part, Randolph said he was impressed with the moves RingSide Creative has recently made to broaden the scope of its services and penetrate new markets. "This is where I began my career, I like the people and I like the direction the company has taken," he said. "I want to contribute, help RingSide move forward, and do good work with good people."

The move to RingSide is like a homecoming for Randolph, who began his career as an Assistant Editor with the company (then GTN) in 1989. He spent the past two years at Pluto Post where he managed the editorial team and also performed off-line and online editing. Among his recent credits is a campaign for Dodge Caravan. Randolph's expertise covers virtually the entire post production toolset. His preferred platforms include Autodesk Smoke, Avid Media Composer, Avid DS Nitris and Apple FinalCut Pro. Additionally, he is adept at graphics applications, including Adobe AfterEffects and Motion. Due to the breadth of his skills, he often handles several aspects of the post process for his projects, editing and finishing spots, as well as executing visual effects and graphics. "I like storytelling best," said Randolph, "but I do a fair amount of finishing and compositing. I also pride myself on being adept at color correction and tracking. Overall, I love my job and continue to educate myself on new trends and technology." Randolph's initial stint with GTN spanned 11 years, during which time he advanced to Editor and Senior Editor. Along the way, he developed strong relationships in the Detroit advertising community and worked for all the major car brands as well as other accounts. He later spent five years with Universal Images before joining Pluto Post. He holds a degree in Audio Visual Production from Ferris State University. RingSide Creative is located at 13320 Northend, Oak Park, MI 48237. For more information call Steve Tocco (248) 548-2500 or visit
