Compelling Education Program, Sold Out Exhibition Floor Expected to Draw Record Attendance October 26, 2008 (Burbank, CA) When HD EXPO launches its flagship event next week at the Burbank Marriott, the groundbreaking show will present two days of insights and expertise from world-class leaders in entertainment technology. An end-to-end RED One workflow presented by Ted Schilowitz, RED's Leader of the Revolution, will kick off the full lineup of panels and education on October 29th. Joining Schilowitz will be Jeffrey Seckendorf, cinematographer, and Dino Georgopolous, a RED owner and producer. Schilowitz will present never-before-seen footage from exciting new projects in episodic television, features and commercials. Following the RED Presentation, American Cinema Editors will sponsor "See What's Coming - Meet the Editors of the Hottest New and Upcoming Releases," a panel discussion featuring the editors of a number of projects just hitting theatres. Panelists include; Oscar winner Paul Hirsch, ACE ("Righteous Kill"), Nancy Richardson, ACE ("Twilight"), Myron Kerstein ("Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist") and Terilyn Shropshire, ACE ("The Secret Life of Bees"). The Hollywood Reporter's Carolyn Giardina will moderate. On October 30th, HD EXPO's Second Annual 3D Day launches with "Myth Busting 3D: Stop the Myths. Hear the Truth," led by industry veteran Vince Pace ("Avatar," "Hannah Montana") and featuring Academy Award winner Eric Brevig (director, "Journey to the Center of The Earth"), Glen MacPherson (cinematographer, "Journey to the Center of the Earth"), and Eric Torres (visual effects coordinator "Final Destination 4"). The expert panel, each of whom boasts extensive 3D credits, will explore the facts and rumors accompanying the growing industry and public interest in 3D. A 3D screening will accompany the panel. American Cinematographer Magazine sponsors a One-On-One Conversation with 3D cinematographer Peter Anderson, ASC ("U23D"). Anderson will screen footage from recent work and explore the art of cinematography in 3D with American Cinematographer's Doug Bankston. Also in store is an in-depth discussion and screening of 3D sports with Vince Pace and his team members who have produced some of the most compelling footage in existence for major sports franchises. Q: What's Next, the invitation-only VIP area within HD EXPO, will present three Q: Chats - up close and personal conversations with industry leaders. Nash Parker, (Director of Digital Strategy, Alcatel-Lucent) and Debra Kaufman (Editor, mobilizedtv.com) will explore the changes in content production, management and delivery in light of the impact of increased mobile opportunities and deliveries. Daryn Okada, ASC (President of the American Society of Cinematographers), will talk with Bob Fisher about the future of the ASC during these challenging and empowering technological times and IBC innovation Award winner John Nicolard from FotoKem will explore the post production pathway of 3D, its challenges and future.
