PRG’s Products and Services on Display at LDI 2010

Production Resource Group (PRG)

will be demonstrating their innovative proprietary products, debuting new products and highlighting their integrated services at the LDI 2010 show, October 22-24 in Las Vegas, Nevada. PRG Distribution will be showcasing an array of product advances from leading manufactures in their booth on the show floor.

PRG Distribution

will once again be a “must see booth with several exciting innovations on display in their booth #1613 on the show floor. The exhibit will have a full grid of ChainMaster motors and Eurotruss, a replica of one of the 483 total grids that were installed in the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha. ChainMaster will also be showing their XYZ controller as well as a ¼-ton VarioLift motor demonstrating both the silence and precision of the unit. In addition, they will be running three separate fixed-speed hoists with their dual braking system.
Several of the other leading global technology manufacturers carried by PRG Distribution will be offering full demonstrations in booth #1613. Stop by to see the full line of ChamSys consoles as well as arKaos’ A10 Media Server HD and their new MediaMaster Express and MediaMaster Pro software. The PowerQuick ascender climber will be working hard at the show along with FogScreen’s newest technology eMotion. Also, in the PRG demo room, N113 will be Spotlesslight, which now offers three separate layers of effects to work with and their new Infrared remote focus. And as always, PRG Distribution remains the industry’s go-to source for Clay Paky’s entire line of luminaires in North America. PRG Distribution reps will also be found in the Clay Paky booth #1620.
PRG’s unparalleled ability to integrate complex systems using state of the art technology will be on display in their demonstration room at LDI. In room N113 of the Central Hall, attendees can see a fully integrated video and automation demonstration which includes the PRG Stage Command™ Motion Control System, the Mbox EXtreme® media server and the new V476™ lighting control console. Also on display will be the PRG Series 400® Power and Data Distribution System, the Bad Boy CMY® automated luminaire, and the PRG V676 control console.
A key component of the Stage Command System, the Commander automation control console is the ideal solution for motion control that is accurate and extremely user-friendly. The Commander’s software, housed in an elegant and ergonomic desk, is designed to make programming and operation of all automated elements seamless, safe and consistently repeatable. The Commander combines the power of the cue-based Stage Command System software with superb graphics, faster processing and an intuitive user interface as well as 3D visualization for real-time viewing or previsualization of motion control programming.
LDI 2010 will be the US debut of PRG’s V476 lighting control console. A smaller version of the popular V676 console, it has three onboard touchscreen monitors, one external touchscreen and a Channel Select panel. The encoder and fader counts remain the same between the two models. The V676 control console, used this past year on the Vancouver Olympics, multiple television awards shows and on Broadway, will also be demonstrated.
Also making its debut is the PRG Bad Boy CMY® automated luminaire with color crossfading technology. Allowing designers to fade between colors easily and simply while still having all the features, including the superior optics and precision movement that have made the PRG Bad Boy an industry-wide success. The original Bad Boy with Quantum Color, used at both the Vancouver and Singapore Youth Olympics as well as on top concerts and major events worldwide, will also be demonstrated.

Rounding out the PRG debuting products is the new PRG OHM™ Light. The OHM is an LED-based, color temperature adjustable spacelight which can replace traditional spacelights on a 1-for-1 basis, drawing only 8-amps versus 42-amps for tungsten spacelights. It uses an array of 16 LED emitters featuring Gekko’s award-winning kleer colour® technology that has both optical and thermal feedback. The OHM can be controlled locally or remotely via DMX, doing away with the need for dimmers and heavy Socapex cables. The color temperature and light levels can be set—and changed—instantly at the touch of a button. The OHM provides significant savings of power, time and HVAC for any film or television production.
