) the cityâ€™s most comprehensive provider of post production services for film, television and advertising media, has hired Bill Topazio as Vice President of Engineering. Topazio brings more than 20 years of experience as a post production engineer, most recently as a senior member of the engineering team for Ascent Mediaâ€™s Company 3 and Method facilities in New York.
In his new role, Topazio will oversee engineering activities for PostWorksâ€™ entire New York operation. â€œBill is a very talented engineer and one who not only knows the technology, but also has a strong commitment to customer service,â€? said David Rosen, Chairman of Telecorps, PostWorksâ€™ parent company. â€œWe look to benefit greatly from his knowledge and broad experience as we continue to evolve to meet the expanding needs of our clients.â€?
Topazio said that he will work to ensure that compatible workflows and engineering standards prevail among PostWorksâ€™ various facilities and departments, as well as between PostWorks and its affiliates, which include Hollywood-based Laser Pacific. â€œWe are on the cusp of technological changes that are going to dramatically affect the way shows and other media are produced and how they travel through the production pipeline,â€? he said. â€œI want to ensure we reach the next plateau safe, sound and still number oneâ€¦and that we have a little fun along the way.â€?
Topazio said that he was impressed with the customer-centric attitude at PostWorks. â€œWe have great talent here and everyone believes that we can solve any problem that comes through the door,â€? he observed. â€œThe positive energy, top to bottom, is tremendous.â€?
Topazio joined Manhattan Transfer as VP Engineering in 1996 and remained with the facility when it was purchased by Ascent Media, in 2001, later becoming R!OT and Company 3. At Company 3, he served as design engineer for a major renovation of the facility that incorporated digital intermediate capabilities. Topazio previously served as an engineer at Editel for 13 years. A graduate of MIT, he began his career with NBC TV.
