Pluto Taps Edelman to Lead New Sales Drive

Publish date:

BIRMINGHAM, Mich.-Pluto, a provider of editorial, motion graphics, visual effects and audio services for advertising, has hired Celeste Edelman as Director of Sales and Marketing. The move is part of a new effort by the company to attract more work from Detroit-area advertising agencies, and to gain a foothold in other markets around the country. Edelman brings broad experience in ad industry sales to Pluto, including, most recently, an eight-year stint at RingSide Creative (formerly GTN). "Celeste impressed us with her knowledge of the business and her excellent contacts in the advertising community, locally and nationally, "said Pluto Creative Director Dave Corbett. "She can introduce us to agencies and creative teams that aren't familiar with the talent and resources that we have to offer." Corbett added that Pluto plans a more active sales effort and is especially eager to reach out to agencies outside Detroit. As a mid-sized creative services provider, the company offers a combination of robust resources and an intimate creative environment that many agencies find attractive. Pluto's aim, said Corbett, is to diversify, but not necessarily to grow. "We want to remain a tight knit shop that does great work," he insisted.

Edelman sees enormous potential for Pluto and believes it will benefit greatly from wider exposure. "It is a special place," she said. "This company was originally a creatively-focused design shop, and while it has developed into a well-rounded resource, it has retained its creative roots." Edelman joined GTN in 2001 and moved to RingSide Creative when GTN spun off the design and editorial company in 2006. She helped launch the company and serviced accounts based both inside and outside of Detroit, including Jeep, Mazda and GM. Previously, she worked as an Account Executive with Arnold Advertising. Her background also includes account posts with Yaffe & Company, and Stone & Simons Advertising. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a degree in business and advertising. Pluto is located at 400 Hamilton Row, Birmingham, Michigan 48009. For more information call (248) 723-3333 or visit
