PLAY CREATIVE TV Earns Heavy Metal at Promax/BDA Awards, Picking Up Three Gold & One Silver, Including Major Wins for E!’s “What’s Eating You” Series

Hollywood, CA, July 8, 2011 — PLAY CREATIVE TV, an award-winning, creative, television marketing house, is the winner of four major 2011 Promax BDA Awards, which were announced last week in New York. Michael Victor is PLAY’s Founder.

PLAY CREATIVE TV’s Promax/BDA 2011 Award wins include:

** A Gold Promax/BDA Award in the category: “Program Promo Campaign: Out of House,” was awarded to PLAY CREATIVE TV for their campaign promoting E!’s investigative reality series “What’s Eating You?” PLAY and E! garnered the top award edging out FOX’s massively popular NFL Super Bowl “It’s Good to Have a Ring” campaign, and the always compelling “Deadliest Catch” series promotional campaign from Discovery Channel.

Additionally, PLAY also won a Silver Promax/BDA Award for the “What’s Eating You?” campaign in the category: “Non-Fiction/Reality Programming.”

To promote “What’s Eating You?” PLAY wrote, directed, edited, built and integrated graphic textures, and finished the campaign in full HD. The spots in their dark, highly dramatic and a moody style voyeuristically peek into select moments of several disturbed women who eat such unusual items as chalk, trash and artificial sweetener. Organic handwritten graphics depicting the emotional words — “die,” “death,” “help,” “trash,” “purge,” “disgusting,” and “distress”—are etched onto the screen.

** PLAY CREATIVE TV is the winner of a Gold Promax/BDA Award in the category of “Holiday/Seasonal/Special Event Programming” for its work on behalf of client Syfy for “The Twilight Zone: New Year’s Marathon.”

Using natural pencil lines and stylized illustrations, PLAY animated a select scene from the iconic television series “The Twilight Zone” to create a 20-second graphic novel promo. The most challenging aspect of the project was finding a way to modernize the 50-year old classic to entice a wide audience today. PLAY’s graphic novel approach injected the promo with a new energy and fresh appeal.

** For the second year in a row, PLAY CREATIVE TV won a Gold Promax/BDA Award in the category of “On-Screen Services Promo” for their spot entitled “FEARnet’s December Barker” for the HD Cable, On-Demand, Online and Digital client dedicated to fear — FEARnet.
