Novocom Names Jon Teschner Executive Vice President

Malibu, CA, September 25, 2006 - Novocom, a Via Worldwide company specializing in the design and production of motion graphics and music branding for the global broadcasting industry, has named Jon Teschner to the newly created position of Executive Vice President. The announcement was made today by John Ridgway, Creative Director, Novocom, and CEO/Founder, Via Worldwide.

Teschner is the recent winner of the 2006 Emmy Award for “Outstanding Main Title Design” for his work on the 78th Annual Academy Awards telecast. In his new post, he will oversee all of Novocom‘s production and creative work to ensure that the expectations of the company‘s clients are met.

Regarding the appointment, Mr. Ridgway, himself an Emmy Award winner, said, “The addition of Jon and his years of experience in the international broadcast design industry will have an immediate impact on the scope and number of projects Novocom now has the ability to pursue around the globe.”


Few executives in the entertainment industry have more experience in motion graphics and design than Jon Teschner. Most recently, Teschner,

a 26-year veteran of the broadcast design industry, was the Studio Manager for New Wave Entertainment in Burbank. From 2000-2005, he was Creative Director, Motion Graphics, for the Aspect Design Group in Hollywood. There, he managed the design and creation of graphics for inclusion in film trailers and TV marketing campaigns.

From l999-2000, Teschner was the Executive Director with Paramount Digital Design in Hollywood, managing all creative, staff and business affairs for that “studio within a studio.” He was Vice President and General Manager with Novocom, working with Mr. Ridgway, from 1995-99, and earlier was Manager of Broadcast Sales with Crawford Post Production and Design/EFX, based in Atlanta.

In l980, Teschner was a Graphic Designer/Supervisor at the newly formed Cable News Network in Atlanta, where he designed, produced and supervised the production of the on-air graphics that launched CNN. During the course of his career, he has also worked as a design consultant to over 140 U.S. TV stations. Teschner is a past president of the Broadcast Designers Association (BDA,) where he served from 1989-90, and a former member of the BDA President‘s Advisory Board from l991-2005.

A member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Teschner holds a BFA Degree from the Atlanta College of Art. He has lectured about graphics and design in London, Barcelona, Cologne, Germany, Singapore and across the U.S. Additionally, he is also the creator/producer of an eight-part television series about graphics and animation, entitled “Design Link.”
