“The VES Awards are given to visual effects professionals from visual effects professionals, so receiving recognition from true peers is a substantial honor, says Shannon Blake Gans, New Deal Studios’ Co-Founder/Executive Producer and CEO. ‘Additionally, our key crew members, many of whom have been with us from the beginning of the company, are very talented artists and it is a real thrill to see them be recognized for their amazing work.
“All of the projects nominated were put through our new visual effects workflow that we have developed over the past four years, explains Co-Founder/Visual Effects Supervisor Matthew Gratzner, and on these projects we were able to refine that process. This new workflow completes the loop of communication between all our studio divisions and the production. This allows New Deal to produce efficiencies that allow for more time to be creative, for costs savings and to build a more consistent look to the effects.

“Having nominations in both film and broadcast—and for three different projects—asserts that New Deal Studios is able to handle multiple, varied projects but still maintain and deliver consistent, high quality work, concludes Ian Hunter, Co-Founder/Visual Effects Supervisor. “Though we have been nominated in both categories before, each nomination is a confirmation that we are on the right path, advancing the art of storytelling through visual effects as we continue to develop and grow as a company and artists.
