Mexico's Canal Del Congreso Selects FOR-A's HVS-1500HS Switcher For Live Programming

MIAMI, FL, September 3, 2008 – FOR-A Latin America, Inc, a division of FOR-A Corporation leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, announces the sale of its HVS-1500HS HANABI switcher to Canal del Congreso. The purchase was made through FOR-A’s distributor in Mexico, Excelencia en Comunicaciones y Tecnología Canal del Congreso, Mexico’s 24-hour government channel, purchased an HVS-1500HS HANABI 1.5 M/E switcher. The channel uses it to provide 24-hour coverage of the daily proceedings. The channel also uses the switcher to produce various special programs of local interest such as “Mesa de Dialogo,� a roundtable talk show that discusses recent legislation and its relevance to the area and “Acercate a Mexico,� a program that highlights the area’s diverse cultural and tourist attractions. The HVS-1500HS was an ideal choice for Canal del Congreso, according to Mauricio Alcantara, Special Projects Director of Excelencia en Comunicaciones y Tecnologia. Pricing on the HVS-1500HS provides powerful capabilities that fit within a government station’s budget.� The HVS-1500HS lends itself to a variety of live productions and studio applications. It features three types of control panels: 16-button, 24-button, and rack mountable 12-button versions. It offers a high-performance DVE, capable of real 3D DVE effects. This true 3D DVE has polygonal-based effects where video is literally wrapped around 3D shapes. The HVS-1500HS can also accommodate an optional two quad split-screen function. Like the HVS-3800HS, the HVS-1500HS offers optional color correction functions that can be applied to the primary inputs and keyers, as well as optional process control, gamma corrections, and various clip functions. The parameters for these functions can be registered in the event memory to enable changes to be made in the course of sequences. The HVS-1500HS also offers four still stores, with the option to add two more Within the 4RU main chassis, it’s possible to add memory cards and optional storage. An optional frame memory provides three seconds in each of its two channels to record HD, or 19 seconds in each of two channels to record SD video. It supports 10 standard AUX output buses, with the option to add six additional AUX buses. Up to four channels can be installed for up-converter input or down-converter output. This enables up-converted signals to be assigned to the M/E, AUX, and keyer buses in the same way as external input and internal still stores. Six keyers, including four keyers, plus two downstream keyers, are standard features.
