James C. Goss, CFA, Managing Director and Senior Investment Analyst with Barrington Research Associates, Inc., will offer an analysis of the changing media landscape during the virtual Media Financial Management Association’s (MFM’s) Media Outlook 2021 seminar. His session is set for October 20 at 2:00 p.m. ET. The theme for this year’s four-hour, two-day seminar is The Future is Now – Progress, Profit, People.
Goss is a widely respected media and entertainment industry analyst. His frequent press appearances span the gamut of local, regional, and national print and electronic media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones News Service, Barron’s, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Billboard, and many others. His presentation for Media Outlook 2021 will focus on the idea “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” how the various industry sectors have evolved to their current blend of activities, plus how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the various media and entertainment sectors and motivated companies to do things better while creating incremental revenue opportunities. Among the topics on his agenda are: the changing mix of advertising revenues; media usage trends and demographics; and how various sectors (e.g. radio, television, cinema) have changed.
“Jim Goss is a trusted source for analysis of media sector trends, statistics, and data,” said Mary M. Collins, president & CEO of MFM and its BCCA subsidiary, the media industry’s credit association. “We expect our attendees to leave his presentation with usable insights that they can take into 2021.”
Co-chairing Media Outlook 2021 are Tracy Clark, Senior Director Finance, Hearst Television, Inc.; Cindy Pekrul, SVP and Deputy Controller, Accounting Business Services, WarnerMedia; and John Sanders, Principal, Bond & Pecaro Inc.
